Interior

Aesthetics, design and functionality – the expectations of customers around the world are increasing with the launch of each new model at all levels of the market. Interior designers aim to meet these expectations with increasingly demanding solutions, but their ideas inevitably require more complex production techniques. Robots are therefore essential for indoor applications, whether used for automated seat checks and other processes

Chassis and Safety

Laser-cutting body panels, coating headlight lenses, milling composite front legs, assembling high-tech ABS systems, producing zero-defect airbags—the scope for robots in the bodywork and safety fields is nearly endless. Stäubli robots prove their worth in all possible applications where there is no margin for error. The advantages of four-axis and six-axis machines – precision, dynamics, trajectory control and reliability – are the prerequisites for sustainable solutions in these sensitive areas.

Powertrain

Motor applications are among the most challenging for a robot-assisted production line. Faults can quickly lead to complete vehicle failure, which is the worst-case scenario for any car manufacturer. The robot’s involvement ranges from assembling high-resolution sensors and complex manufacturing of engine and transmission components to cleaning parts. Stäubli Robotics also has solutions for some rather unusual applications, such as splash-proof 6-axis models for cleaning tasks and ESD versions that compensate for electrostatic discharge.

Tires

Aluminum wheel inspection and handling tasks have long been typical applications in automation technology, but the demand for ever higher quality and productivity is constantly opening up new fields of application for robots. Today, robots are already carving the profiles on prototype tires. Operating under such difficult conditions requires maximum precision. This and other high-tech applications were only realized using high-precision industrial robots supplied by Stäubli.
